Art supplies?
Hello. I am a very good artist, on plain paper, with a normal pencil and pen. I joined this contest for posters 3grand with a first prize. I have great ideas and creativity to spare, but the problem is to be taken on a canvas. I'm not very knowledgeable about supplies art. I'm new to the whole canvas. What type of fabric and color what I use because I'm not very experienced (ie, watercolor paintings, acrylic, pencils, etc) I need something I can start easy and gradually get used to the whole canvas thing. Thanks a bunch! =)
I'm a little confused about why a poster contest entries are required on canvas. However, if that's the case, I recommend using canvas boards instead of canvas. These are cheaper and come in a variety of sizes. I suggest to you, this will be a major change in the way that his work of art today. Working in painting, or any other marriage is quite different drawing. You might consider experimenting in the use of pen and ink on canvas. Maybe you can practice using a brush and ink on paper and then practice canvas board. The inks of different colors and you can be satisfied with the result enough to make an entry. However, if the painting is the way it decides to go, I suggest that acrylics. The watercolor is a difficult technique and may take years to master. Similar working oils to acrylics, but require some solvents more exotic and cleaning products, while with acrylics, water usually is all you need to thin paints and most cleaning. Start for the purchase of a small set of acrylic paints and brushes suitible. You can buy tablets linen paper to practice. (this also hemp paper may be acceptable for the contest, but you should check with them) Once again, the wet paintings will be very different from drawing with pencil, so, be prepared to spend many hours in practice and learn the technique before any final work on their entry.
